Monday Already?

Well, it’s Monday and all I can say it that it’s the official beginning of this crazy ride we call a diet. I know that I told you that I started the third round of the Biggest Loser challenge at work and this technically marks the beginning of week 3 but my head just wasn’t in it the first 2 weeks. But, I did weigh in today and I’m glad to report that I have lost one apple, roughly 0.4 pounds. Sad I know but baby steps lead to strides, at least I hope. I’m hoping for a bigger number next week.

This weekend didn’t turn into the best weekend, diet wise that is, for me. My son, we will call him Chris, stayed over at his grandparents’ house Friday night to help do some household repairs and so that left my husband and I alone with our nearly 2 year-old daughter on a Friday night. Not really wanting to cook we opted for running errands and grabbing some Chinese food to take home. I ordered one of my faves and had Chicken Lo Mein which unfortunately, was greasier than the norm. Saturday came and as such a busy family we are, my son had a school choir practice on Saturday morning from 10 until noon and then we decided to check out the Aldi’s store in Frisco. Of course, everyone was hungry by noon and not wanting to go home and dig through our pantry we opted for Burger King. I don’t even like Burger King so what a waste of calories on my part. We did better on Saturday night though. I made chicken and vegetable kabobs. They were delicious! Watching Chris try to choke down grilled mushrooms and red peppers was about as painful as watching him if he were eating a worm or something. He acted like it was that bad. Sunday we had turkey meatloaf with mixed vegetables for lunch and homemade pizza for supper. It could have been a lot better eating wise around our house but a trip to the grocery store wouldn’t hurt.

My husband on the other hand, frustrates the fire out of me! Ted has moved areas in his work and is out in the field working on new construction sites and installing the A/C ducts and stuff rather than actually making the A/C duct work in a hot building all day. The only other thing he has changed in his schedule is that he is eating sandwiches, chips, and other stuff rather than processed frozen meals from Schwan’s. Ted has lost 14 pounds! Way to go for him but it really makes me mad when I consume Smart Ones breakfast, Lean Cuisine lunches, and supper with the occasional snack. Now in what world is it fair that men lose weight so much faster then women?!
